Commercial Printing Awards

Bartash Wins Six Awards in 2010 Competition: The Web Offset Association (WOA), a special focus group of Printing Industries of America (PIA), has singled out Bartash for their first-place quality in three categories: 1,2,or 3 Color Printing on Newsprint; Special Edition Commemorative or Self-Promotion by Coldset; and Bound Combination Coldset & Heatset. Bartash also captured 2nd place in the Special Edition Commemorative or Self-Promotion by Coldset category, and 2nd and 3rd place in the category of 4-Color Printing on Uncoated Paper Other Than Newsprint. Brenda Ragan, Manager of Customer Service at Bartash said: “For Bartash Printing, the WOA Print Awards are more than something to brag about. Internally, they give us a benchmark standard to live up to. Externally, they represent third-party validation of our capabilities from a respected evaluating organization. They also validate our existing clients’ decisions to work with us, and reassure new prospects that they are dealing with the best possible supplier.”

The Publishers of the winning entries were an excellent cross-section of the type of publications that Bartash excels in producing. Awards went to issues of Long Island Bride to Be, a niche-shopping compact magazine; Hill Rag and The Hook, alternative monthly and weekly metro magazines; Fire News, a monthly niche newspaper aimed at first responders; The Connection Warren-Watchung Edition, a monthly lifestyle and shopping tabloid magazine; and The NY Medical College Sesquicentennial Dinner Program Book. Top companies from across the nation submitted over 400 samples of their best work to see if they could achieve “best-of-the-best” status in the web offset print arena. Bartash consistently wins first place awards in this prestigious competition, however this year the company topped it’s previous personal-best of 5 WOA Awards in 2008. Director of Production Tom Meyer explained why: “This high industry recognition of our quality is the direct result of our people’s craftsmanship and the major upgrades we’ve made to our prepress systems and press controls. Bartash is setting new industry standards for publication print quality.” In 2009 Bartash was the first North American printer to install QI Press Controls on Tensor Presses, while at the same time installing EPG digital inking Controls.

Bartash eDITIONs™ Make Spectacular Showing in First Competition — We Entered 3, and Won 3. More importantly, we demonstrated the viability of this new product to a prime audience – publishers in the mid-Atlantic region. In May of 2009, The Maryland/Delaware/DC (MDDC) Press Association presented 3 awards for Bartash eDITIONs™ in their second annual On-Line Media Contest. We took First Place in the category of “Non-Daily Local Guides – Shopping” for Long Island Bride To Be, and both the First and Second Place Awards in the category of “Citizen Involvement – Non-Daily,” for Bartash eDITIONs of The Catholic Advocate and Education Update respectively. Of the First Place Advocate, the judges commented, “Overall, a nice publication packed with community info. Good Community calendar, professional directory, local features, classifieds, and more. Nice job!” Because Bartash eDITIONs are less than a year old, this is the first time they were entered into competition anywhere.

Bartash Ranked in Top 20 Magazine Printers! Not all recognition comes in the form of awards. Publishing Executive Magazine surveys all printers in Printing Impressions Magazine’s Top 400 and ranks the top 20 magazine printers in its May 2009 issue. We were ranked #14, up from  as #24 out of the top 25 in 2008. It’s another sign that Bartash is on the right track in meeting the increasing needs of publishers for quality, economy and new technologies.

Bartash Is A Consistent Winner in WOA Competition: For Bartash Printing, the Web Offset Association Print Awards are more than something to brag about. Internally, they give us a benchmark standard to live up to. Externally, they represent 3rd party validation of our capabilities from a respected evaluating organization. They validate our existing clients’ decisions to work with us, and reassure new prospects that they are dealing with the best possible supplier.
